Bobbie Kinkead tells stories about:

other times and places through FABLES, FOLKTALES, and MYTHS
about princesses and princes; fairies, elves, witches,

sorceresses, magicians, with magical frogs, birds, snakes,
lions, tigers, bears, and dragons; in faraway kingdoms or dynasties; on farms,

in towns, in palaces and castles, in deep forests, dry deserts, thick jungles, by rushing rivers, on high mountains, in the wide sky or the open Milky Way; with heroes, heroines, gods, goddesses, and mythical beasts; or just plain everyday folk and animals traveling through  other realms.

Bobbie tells stories:

  • in the Storytellers Program at the San Francisco Asian Art Museum during the week four times a month either in the Chinese, Japanese, Hindu, South East Asian, or Korean galleries to 2nd and 3rd grade children and to families every second month on Sunday;
  • at Feather River Family Camp the first week in August 2004, 2005 as the storyteller-in-residence: making and telling stories with puppets, telling stories before dinner, hosting campfire story swaps, and one night as the featured storyteller;
  • in schools, at fairs, in bookstores, on farms, for benefits, at picnics, at swaps, at fests,
  • at park celebrations, in libraries, at museums, and for organizations.

 At Barnes & Noble in Jack London Square, Oakland, on the third Monday of each month from 7 to 9 pm. Bobbie co-hosted the story telling swap ‘Story Tells’ with Jean Ellisen from March 2005 to September 2006. They restructured the swap as an Annual Gala Convergence to bring the mentors, teachers, and organizers of storytelling together.

Bobbie can present workshops on character development for stories.
